**Last Updated 05/13/2003 LP (and derivitive) MUDs URL: http://www.imaginary.com/ Rating: *** Available Platforms: - Unix - Some have ports for Win32 Pros: - Excellent real-time RP engine - Moving mobs that attack and have racial settings - You gain experience from killing mobs/players - Levels base how powerful you are - Levels base what level of staff you are - C-like programming language Cons: - Lots of memory leaks and buffer problems. - Not compatable with TinyMUSH - No 'ownership' of areas. - Huge resource hog - Known race conditions - 'Hack and Slash' environment - Lacking an enhanced social atmosphere Comments: LP (and it's derivitives) is a worthwhile persuit if you wish to set up an environment where players can do mob/monster hunting for treasure, experience, etc. This would be a very good codebase if you wish to encorporate real-time combat but is heavilly lacking on a social atmosphere like TinyMUSH has.
