**Last Updated 05/13/2003 MUQ URL: http://www.muq.org/ Rating: **** 1/2 Available Platforms: - Unix (and varients) - NeXT (and varients) Pros: - virtual space/memory/disk for other systems. - configurable user interface - fully internalized multi-threaded interface - fully parallel processing - fully db stability/security - excellent memory management and protocols (multi-tier) - internalized byte compiling of everything. (obj-oriented) - possible multimedia support - internalized pre-emptive multi-tasking Cons: - difficult to configure/setup - Rather time consuming - Not mush-compatable out of the box. Comments: MUQ is still in development but it is released to the public. I just have one phrase to explain this OS. Holy crap! I have played with it and it shows a remarkable flexability and configurability to do pretty much everything you ever wanted. It works like a mix of an OS and a mu* engine working hand in hand. This codebase is definately a right step for the future and what it has now leaves all other codebases (RhostMUSH included) in it's dust. Rhost 4.0 should incorporate a lot of the ideas and methodologies that is inherent in this system, but we're a year behind what Muq can do. I would strongly suggest just playing with this. It's remarkable.
