**Last Updated 05/13/2003 TinyMUSE URL: http://www.tinymuse.org/ Rating: ** Available Platforms: - Unix - Unsure if win32 exists Pros: - Loaded with functionality - Exceptional parser that allows amazing flexability - Better setup/install/configure - Hardcoded mail system - Hardcoded com system - Full ansi support Cons: - Only semi-compatable with TinyMUSH. - Missing features of TinyMUSH people expect - Some memory leaks exist that need fixing - Database management is poor - Not the most stable - Networking is poor - Parser can be abused and is a security risk - No longer supported natively. - Not very portable Comments: MUSE is an excellent codebase with what is possible. It's parser is exceptionally powerful, however, is also very 'hackable'. Without fully knowing how MUSE parses, it is very easy to have security risks. The functionality on MUSE is more math and physics oriented than any other codebase and for simulation based servers (like robotech, battletech, etc) you may want to look at this serverbase first. It doesn't have the best stability out of the box however. If you want to run a MUSE system, I would suggest DeMUSE.
