**Last Updated 08/02/2004 TinyMYTH v0.9.1 (pre-release) URL: http://myth.willcliffe.com/ Rating: *** 1/2 Available Platforms: - Most flavors of Unix Pros: - Totally original codebase written from scratch. - Flexable at the hardcode for reputed easy modifications. - Command set similiar to MUSH but has a lot of 'mud' flavor. - Supposedly a very tight memory footprint and exceedingly speedy codebase. - The parser is museish and allows a lot of power, but may not be secure if not properly checked. - Bytecode parser in the works. - Mail system is simplistic but functional. - Comsystem seems to be comparable to others. Cons: - Still a very minimal command/feature set. But that's ok. - Help files not complete. be easy to add in with their infastructure. - No sideeffects (that I could see) - No multipage system (that I could see) Comments: I only reciently got to play with this codebase, and only as a user. When I get time, I might ask the developers for a copy of the code to play around with. Until then, I have to take what they say and what I see for face value. As with any new codebase in the works, there is a lot of work to do, however, the foundation seems solid, secure, and very flexable. I believe that when this codebase matures it will be a very good choice for MMORPG text adventure systems and for people who want a bit of hack and slash in their daily diet of adventure. It looks like it's well on it's way to be a true merger of mud and mush. Good luck :)
